New Aspiring designers Sought for BBC Programme

Any budding designers out there - now is the chance to shine!

BBC Two has teamed up with celebrated French design guru Philippe Starck to help find a new generation of British design talent.

Over six one-hour episodes, to be shown in 2009, Starck will bring the 25 most promising applicants to meet him in Paris and, after setting them a challenge, will select 10 to join his school of design.

"We are trying to find the talent of young people. We don't want the fashion victim or design victim, we are seeking the people who do, the people who actually make something" explained Twofour, the show producers.

Entry is open to anyone who feels they have a talent for design, regardless of whether or not they have formal training. Potential applicants should visit the BBC website and read the terms and conditions. (www.bbc.co.uk/schoolofdesign).

"We are looking for people from all areas, crafts, sewing, fashion, product design etc" explained Twofour. Closing date for applications is 22 August and all applications must be over 18.
