Sausage Dog Doorstop
Make a cute but practical doorstop. Mother is not interested in herself. She is always thinking about her baby, and they will have sweet dreams together in vivid colour!
Materials
Cotton canvas fabric
Red felt fabric
Red embroidery thread
Siliconised stuffing and old door snake
Red acrylic paint
Tools
Paper for template; needle; neutral sewing thread; vanishing fabric marker
To make up
1. Make a template using the mother dog diagram at the end of the article, then cut it in the middle and add more paper so the total length is 92 cm (36 in) or the length of your door snake. Make a template for the baby using the baby dog diagram also below. Trace onto canvas and cut two bodies and eight legs.
2. Cut out the felt shapes. Cut two ears and eight pattern shapes for the mother, and two ears and three pattern shapes for the baby.

3. Arrange the felt pieces on the body and mark their positions with vanishing fabric marker.
4. Stitch the felt shapes in place on the body and use stem stitch to make an eye.

5. With right sides together, match the legs in pairs and stitch around the edges.

6. Turn them to the right side and attach them to the body as shown in the Mother dog diagram.

7. Stitch around the body, leaving an opening at the tail.
8. Turn to the right side and stuff the nose and tail with stuffing. Use a stick to poke it in.

9. Insert the door snake or stuffing and stitch up the opening in the tail. Paint the nose with acrylic paint.
